New Mexico legislators introduced over 900 bills, memorials, and resolutions during the 54th Legislative Session.
The New Mexico Legislature considered high-profile bills such as legalization of recreational cannabis, a trust fund for early childhood education, a $300 million gas tax increase, and many more bills that affect members of New Mexico associations and nonprofits. Some bills died a very visibly following vigorous public debate, while other went out with a whimper, simply never being brought up for a vote or by getting buried in a committee.
