The New Mexico Society of Association Executives, in partnership with the New Mexico Broadcasters Association, is hosting a Media Training for association and nonprofit professionals on Tuesday, November 16th from 9:00 am - 12:00pm. 

During the half-day seminar participants will learn how to: 

• Be a highly effective spokesperson for your association;
• Develop key messages for traditional and social media;
• Manage your encounters with members of the media;
• Work with the media to broadcast your message;
• Understand the rules of engagement; and
• Master effective delivery of your message

As a CAE Approved Provider educational program related to the CAE exam content outline, this half-day seminar may be applied for 3 credits toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements.

Meet the Trainer: Melanie J. Majors

Melanie J. Majors has an extensive public relations and communications backgroudn with more than 25 years in the industry. She is an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico's Communications and Journalism Department. Majors was a print reporter for seven years and later was an assistant assignment editor and producer for KOB-TV 4.

She is the recipient of numerous awards from the New Mexico Press Association, New Mexico Press Women, the Associated Press Managing Editors and the New Mexico Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, which honored her with the Vista Award in 2008.
