Join the New Mexico Society of Association Executives for an in-person conversation about the Academies of Albuquerque, Albuquerque Public Schools’ district-wide effort to connect rigorous academics with career exploration, applied learning and meaningful community partnerships.
Rodney Prunty of United Way of North Central New Mexico will provide an update on the initiative’s progress, explain how the four-year Academies model prepares students for college and careers, and discuss how associations and the industries they represent can participate.
Attendees will learn about opportunities for employers and professional organizations to support students through career presentations, mentorship, job shadowing, teacher externships, internships, curriculum guidance and real-world projects. The conversation will also explore how associations can serve as a bridge between the Academies and their member organizations, helping Albuquerque develop a stronger local workforce pipeline. These engagement opportunities are outlined throughout the Academies’ partnership guide.
